One of my English professor’s had a discussion about Trump’s election this past semester. He had a theory on why individuals like Trump get elected by people. And contemplating his theory this can be applied to similar individuals as well.
The professor’s theory is that people elect “leaders” not based on rational nor logic but based on charisma. That ego/charm/personality that “leaders” portray and project in public.
One of his “plans” is to build a great wall and have illegal immigrants deported for “reasons”. Does that make any logic sense? No. Yet why was he elected? One guess/theory is that it was originally intended as a joke since he had never been into politics before but was just a business and “celebrity”. Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CTzBZuPx1lQ
One of Stalin’s ideas for carrying out communism (specifically Socialism in One country) in the Soviet Union is to create five year plans in hopes of making the Soviet Union into a super power. Those plans have very unrealistic quotas to increase industrial and agricultural production. (This was done at the cost of millions of soviet lives). Why was he elected as General Secretary let alone allowed as leader of the country despite warnings from Lenin? Some guesses include his image of a military man despite never gone to the army and the fact that his last name had a ring to it. Stalin means man of steel in Russia.
Hitler’s idea to establish a 1000 year Third Reich and restoration of German from World War 1 is the extermination of the Jewish Race. This is just based on stereotypes not facts. Yet, why did German as a whole went along with Hitler’s plan? Possible reasons: He was a WWI veteran, had surprising speaking skills, and a toothbrush mustache. Interesting fact the tutor who had trained Hitler in public speaking had Jewish ancestry. Reference/Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wMwnz36L4as
This man born in Japan, lived in Korea conducted and executed orders of abortions, tax evasion, and abusive training such as skokie training which a member had to walk more than a mile sometimes barefoot from one location to the Chicago UBF building all under the name of God. All which makes NO sense. Yet why was he deemed director of UBF? His charisma/ego. He was a veteran of the Korean War. Always “provided” for students, made “leaders” in his religious empire which expanded to several nations apart from the U.S. and Korea. Interesting fact: Interesting fact: It has been report that Lee has called Stalin a good leader.
